Mmm everly confusing but
It’s basically a Ploy
The market Value they are referring to is Manufactur suggested retail.
It’s like going shopping for a Coach… do you want to pay full price for a Sofa the Competitors have for Half the price? They are buying it at a Discount cause they get them in Bulk They buy 10 at a Time and save probably 100$ off it When Then they sell for a Profit and make another 100$ from it.
Software like this is the same Sounds like you have been watching HSN, or QVC lol they do this a lot to push there stuff.
They get the software at much, much less than retail price.
Software isn’t a scarce resource like trees or oil.
It can be infinitely reproduced for the same original price.
It may exceed the computer value – if you buy it seperately…
Obviously a $200 program might be worth $25 in negotiations between a manufacturer and the software company. A lot of companies do this with their software so that you MUST use it and things that are compatable with the program.. It’s called market share and they want the most. Why let a competitor be the default operating system on a computer?
Also a lot of these programs that are pre-installed on new computers are only limited trial editions that expire unless you buy them.
